1996 年我在高登島服役。離島生活的某段時間，外面世界看起來很遠。但飛彈試射開始的時候，外面世界突然非常近。我們不知道接下來會發生什麼。
In 1996 I was serving on Gaodeng Island. For a stretch of life on an offshore island, the outside world feels far away. But when the missile tests began, the outside world was suddenly very close. We didn't know what would happen next.
30 年了。這個故事 — 我們在那段時間的故事 — 從來沒被認真拍成電影。每一年能說的人都少一個。再不拍，這個故事會被別人的版本取代，或者完全消失。
Thirty years on. This story — our story from that time — has never been seriously filmed. Each year there's one fewer person who can tell it. If we don't make it now, the story gets replaced by someone else's version, or vanishes.
